Cedar Roof Cleaning Results in Dublin, Ohio

This overhead drone shot tells the full story. This large cedar shake roof in The Quarry was covered in moss and algae — the green patches are clearly visible, especially along the ridge and north-facing slope where shade from mature hardwoods keeps moisture trapped. After our treatment, every shake has been restored to its natural golden-brown color. You can even spot the Forza van in the driveway — that's us, on-site and getting it done.

This close-up of the ridge line shows just how aggressively moss had colonized the cedar shakes. The thick green growth between each shake was trapping moisture and accelerating wood decay. In the background, you can see a neighbor's cedar shake roof — The Quarry is an entire community of wood shake homes, and this kind of moss growth is extremely common under the heavy tree canopy along the Scioto River. Our treatment killed the moss at the root without any pressure washing, which would damage the soft cedar fibers.

The area around the chimney stays in the shade most of the day which creates the perfect environment for bio-growth to take hold and multiply. Debris collects in the valleys, moisture lingers around the chimney flashing, and organic growth takes hold fast. In the before photo, the shakes had turned a splotchy dark gray with visible leaf debris and organic buildup. After treatment, the warm golden-brown cedar color is back, and the clean lines around the chimney show the level of detail we bring to every job. No pressure washer touched this roof — just our proprietary treatment formula.
